On 8 March 2025, the world came together to celebrate International Women’s Day under the theme "For ALL Women and Girls: Rights. Equality. Empowerment." This year’s theme calls for concrete action to unlock equal rights, power, and opportunities for all, paving the way for a feminist future where no one is left behind.

A key focus of this year’s celebrations is the empowerment of the next generation - particularly young women and adolescent girls who are driving lasting change. The 2025 event is especially significant as it marks the 30th anniversary of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action, the most progressive blueprint for women’s rights that has shaped global policies on gender equality.

This milestone is a powerful reminder to governments, corporate leaders, community advocates, and civil society to invest in women’s rights and gender equality. As the world reflects on past achievements, the call to action is clear: it’s time to accelerate progress, challenge outdated stereotypes, and create a future where every woman and girl has the opportunity to thrive.

The United Nations has launched two reports to coincide with Women's Day.  Check them out!
